Input devices are those devices , which are designed to read data and instructions and transmit them to the C.P.U for further processing. Input devices are the "eyes" of computer. These devices are directly connected to the C.P.U by cables and become permanent components of the computer system. For example ; keyboard , mouse , joystick.
KEYBOARD:-
It is the most common input device. Keyboard symbols or characters are called alphanumerics. Alpha refers to the letters of the alphabets , numeric refers to numbers,and combined term alphanumeric refers to both numbers and letters. Puctuation marks are also included in the term alphanumeric.This section of keyboard is also called "Standard Keys".Computer keyboard also includes some other keys,which are helpful to enter data into C.P.U. For example: Function keys,Cursor keys,Numeric keys , Editing keys etc
MOUSE:-
Mouse usually contains two buttons on top and a small ball at its bottom.We have to move the mouse on a flat surface to control the cursor movement on the screen. When a user presses one of the buttons, the mouse either marks a place on the screen or makes selection from data or menus on the screen.
Joystick is an input device , which is generally used when you play computer games. It consists of a lever or vertical stick that can be tilted in various directions to control the position of an object on the screen.It also has a push button on the top of the lever, which is used to jump or fire, according to the game software you are using.
It is the most modern input device by which the user simply touches an area on the screen with his finger to give a command or to retrieve some information from the computer. A touch screen can work with the help of a software which is specially designed for it.

ReplyDeleteMy daughter (Annabel) suffered from schizophrenia for 5 years. I had no idea what was happening and didn’t know where to turn for help. It was hard then because I really didn’t understand the symptoms earlier until she was diagnosed. There was a time she decided to get away from everyone, I was not excluded. Her life is now a testimony.
